The White Post Road wicket was deemed unsafe for Saturday’s Home Counties Premier Cricket League fixture between the top two sides. That left Wycombe to move up to second place after they beat Great & Little Tew in Saturday’s division one fixture.

Sabin said: “It was very disappointing not to play and try to get a result but that’s cricket. The outfield wasn’t too bad but the wicket was too wet and unsafe.

“Not only have High Wycombe closed the gap but so have Finchampstead so we will going all out for a win at Reading on Saturday. Reading have a lost a few players from last year but they’ve got one win already.”
