Head coach James Kerr will be able to recall some of his more experienced players for Saturday’s trip to lowly Old Leamingtonians.

Skipper Ed Phillips, Josh Deegan and Jed Boyle are available after missing the defeat against unbeaten Midlands Two West South leaders Old Laurentians.

Despite the defeat, Kerr was pleased with the improvement his side showed.

He said: “We knew we had to work on the areas which let us down at Old Coventrians, the set-piece and our tackling. We worked on both those areas in training the week and put them to good use on Saturday.

“We were much stronger in the scrums and that meant we secured more ball for our backs. We got into their 22 as much as they got into ours but we just couldn’t quite get over the line.

“Old Laurentians made the better decisions to get the points when they had possession in the attacking areas.

“But we’ve got to take a lot of positives out of the game and we played some good rugby especially in the closing stages.

“The club’s policy of bringing players through the youth set-up is serving us well.”

Bulls now trail the top two, Old Laurentians and Newbold-on-Avon, by 23 points.
