Banbury Bulls kick-off their new Midlands Two South campaign against Spartans on Saturday with head coach James Kerr hoping to make it third time lucky.
Kerr has seen his side go close to promotion in his first season in charge, losing out in the play-off final, but they fell away last season and the Bulls coach will be expecting more this time.
Bulls are boosted by the return of several former Banbury players including Matt Goode, Andrew Walsh and Ian Isham.
Kerr said: “Our objective is to get promotion but it will be a tough division this season with some strong clubs like Bedworth, Earlsdon and Spartans, who finished well last season.
“We’ve built strong foundations over the last two seasons and pre-season has gone very well.
“We’ve been working on key skills and we produced two good displays against Southam and Witney, so we got into the campaign with a lot of confidence this time.”
Banbury will be sponsored by TGL, part of the Tibbetts Group, a family business based in Banbury for more than 30 years.
They engineer and distribute components for industries in the Automotive, Aerospace and Industrial sectors.
