Despite seeing his side pick up three more points and extend their unbeaten Evo-Stik League South run, Banbury United boss Mike Ford had mixed feelings.

A solitary goal from Jack Self earned the Puritans a 1-0 victory at Hitchin Town in Saturday’s clash. Ford’s side remain unbeaten in five premier division central outings but knows his side must be better over the 90 minutes.

Ford told Puritans Radio: “That’s the first change I’ve made in five games because the players have done so well but we’ve got to be better than that going forward. We were too passive in the first half, didn’t do the right things, but we were the opposite in the second half.

“We were poor in the first half but always looked like getting a second goal in the second half. We weren’t at our best but we kept a clean sheet and go home with three points.”
