Despite being up with the leaders for much of the race, Oscar Time finished 15th in Saturday’s Crabbie’s Grand National at Aintree.

The big race was won by Many Clouds and there was no fairytale ending for AP McCoy or a shock winner from Banburyshire as outsider Ely Brown fell at the first under Brian Hughes for Chipping Norton trainer Charlie Longsdon.

The Robert Waley-Cohen trained Oscar Time, ridden by Sam Waley-Cohen, was well placed in the closing stages before the 14-year-old was passed by several horses on the run-in.
