With the Cheltenham Festival coming up next month, punters will be looking for some early pointers.

And they may well be able to find some at a Cheltenham Festival Preview Evening at Middleton Cheney Sports & Social Club in Astrop Road, Middleton.

The panel will be made up of Channel 4 Racing commentator and pundit Richard Hoiles, Chipping Norton trainer Charlie Longsdon, Aston Rowant trainer Lawney Hill, Jennie Prest of William Hill and Racing Plus columnist Neil Phillips, aka The Wine Taster.

Run in association with William Hill, the preview evening takes place on Thursday, March 5, doors open at 7pm for a 7.45pm start.

The evening is in aid of Transplant Sport UK and organiser Andrew Hook said: “It’s great to be able to arrange such an excellent panel across a wide range of the industry to support the event and the charity.

“This is one of very few preview evenings that have been arranged in Oxfordshire and is a great opportunity for anyone interested in racing to pick up some information just prior to Cheltenham Festival week.

“If anyone hasn’t attended a preview before, they provide a lighthearted but extremely informative event and sets up the Festival perfectly.”

There will be an auction with some great prizes and a raffle on the night. Tickets are just £10 and are available from Andrew Hook 07900 692154 or email juniorhook21@aol.com.

The Best Mate Enclosure is now sold out on Gold Cup day but tickets can still be purchased for the other two enclosures, Tattersalls and Club for that day.

Demand for the Best Mate Enclosure has been strong with tickets selling out three weeks earlier than in 2014.
