Hamilton takes the championship lead after Hungaroring win
Lewis Hamilton took the lead of the championship with a commanding drive to claim an eighth victory at the Hungarian Grand Prix.
The six-time world champion led from pole position and never looked back as he dominated the race and took the fastest lap at the end to claim a full compliment of points.
Max Verstappen turned around Red Bull's toiling weekend with second, but he did it the hard way by crashing en route to the grid and damaging his suspension.
Verstappen held off a late charge from Valtteri Bottas in the other Mercedes as he let slip the championship lead for the first time.
Racing Point's Lance Stroll claimed fourth spot with a composed drive, and was running second off the start as he jumped Bottas off the line, but fell behind the frontrunners for a lonely finish.
Alex Albon passed Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel in the closing laps to claim fifth for Red Bull, ahead of Sergio Perez, Daniel Ricciardo, Kevin Magnussen and Carlos Sainz.
