Banbury Chestnuts beat Watlington 72-69 to end their unbeaten run in the Oxford & District Bowls League.

Jamie Wilkinson with Richard Cox, Dave Woods and Brian Ray won 25-7 while Lee Wilkinson with Ricky Marsden, Dave Ward and Alan Wase won 25-16.

Keith Buckle with Martyn Cooper, Norman Stringer and Stuart Marsden lost 13-23 while Colin Taylor with Dave Tilley, John Duncan and Dai Evans lost 9-23.

Adderbury picked up four valuable points with a big 93-69 win at second-in-the-table Charlbury.

Chris Skidmore’s rink made sure of the victory with a massive 40-13 scoreline in the division two fixture.

Chris Skidmore with Nigel Eley, Dave Allington and Pete Griffin won 40-13 and Ted Eley’s rink of George Sainsbury, Rod Head and Ian Dunn finished 27-16 ahead.

Tom Clark with Bryan Ogilvie, Cliff Hall and John Radley lost 14-18; and Phil Gladden with Paul Jelfs, Graham Tyrrell and Mick Jelfs went down 12-22.

Banbury Central B beat Headington 62-57 in division three.

Tom McKenna with John Pardoe, Brian Collins and Bob Brown won 17-12 while Jim Pickering with Eric Trinder, Bill Rodgers and Eric Knowles won 16-9.

Malcolm Leather with Bob Joiner, Ed Creed and Graham Tilbury top scored 25-17 but Ron Cox with Bob Wilkins, John Hart and John Bone lost 4-17.
