Banbury Harriers were in record breaking form during Sunday’s Midlands Youth Development League meeting at Tipton.

In the division one fixture, Seb Hartwell stormed home to win the Under-17 400m in 50.4 seconds, smashing the club record 0.7 seconds. Ben Brown was third in the B string 400m in 56.7 seconds and won the B long jump.

The sprinters used the fast track for personal bests with Ollie Sprio running the 100m in 11.2 seconds and a stunning second place in the Under-17 200m in 22.4 seconds, a 0.7 seconds improvement on his previous best.

Matt Hall was third in the Under-17 B 100m in 11.8 seconds, a pb, and second in the long jump while Felix Noble was fifth in the A 100m.

The ladies had a clean sweep in the sprints with Abbey Anson winning the Under-17 100m in 12.6 seconds and Zoe Pollock took the B string in 12.9 seconds.

Pollock then ran like the wind winning the 200m in a new record of 25.6 seconds and an ESAA qualifying time.

Not to be outshone by the track performances, Michael Dawes threw the Under-20 hammer to a distance of 49.17m, a new club record, winning the event and he backed this up with a second place in the shot put.
