Banbury Central B are promoted to division three in the Oxford & District Bowls League following a 88-53 victory against Blackbird Leys.

Jim Pickering with Bob Wilkins, Terry Ulph and Tony Lawford were on fine form winning 29-9 while Tom McKenna with Eric Trinder, Brian Collins and Chris Williams won 24-14.

Malcolm Leather with Ed Creed, Maurice Tombes and Graham Tilbury won 21-14 but Ron Cox with Ron Havard, Keith Williams and John Hart lost 14-16.

Tonight’s (Thursday) trip to Hanborough will be the decider for top spot.

Adderbury’s bid to win promotion from division two ended with a 101-67 defeat at Watlington. Having completed their fixtures, cannot improve on that position.

There was a 38-18 win by Phil Gladden’s rink of Mick Jelfs, Phil French and Ted Eley. But Julian Dancer with Rod Head, Graham Tyrrell and Chris Skidmore Jnr went down 11-26 while Tom Clark with Bryan Ogilvie, Cliff Hall and John Radley lost 11-29.

Chris Skidmore Snr’s rink of Frank Duty, Malcolm Brown and Pete Griffin lost 7-28.
