Banbury Central A are through to the third round of the Oxford & District Bowls League Cup.

They beat Banbury Central B 88-50 with Will Campion’s rink of Ian Whelpton, Paul Humphris and Stuart Smith beating Malcolm Leather with Ed Creed, Maurice Tombes and Chris Williams 25-7.

Les Campion with John McGeough, Dave Green and Graham Morbey pulled ahead in the second half to beat Jim Pickering with Terry Ulph, Ray Puddle and Bob Brown eventually winning 24-12.

John Tee with the in-form Keith McNeil, Stuart Boyd and Alan Hunt were ten shots up after four ends against Tom McKenna with Tony Lawford, Ron Havard and John Bone maintaining their early lead to win 24-14.

Nigel Galletly with Bob Joiner, Keith Sherratt and Andy Wilkins took three shots on the last end to win 17-15 against a spirited effort from Ron Cox with Bob Wilkins, Graham Tilbury and Eric Knowles.
