Adderbury get back on title track

Adderbury beat Charlbury 86-72 in division two of the Oxford & District Bowls League.

It keeps Adderbury in the promotion race but the top five teams are closely grouped.

Julian Dancer with Nigel Eley, Graham Tyrrell and Chris Skidmore Jnr won 24-16 while Phil Gladden with Mick Jelfs, Dave Allington and Phil French won 24-17. Ted Eley with Bryan Ogilvie, Cliff Hall and John Radley had a 21-14 win while Chris Skidmore Snr with Frank Duty, Malcolm Brown and Pete Griffin drew 19-19.

Bloxham lost 80-67 against Chadlington in division three.

Tony Gardner’s rink of Brian Smith, John Nolan and Ray Hopkins won 18-16 but Dave Morse with Chris Hall, Doug Woodward and Alan Miles lost 18-19. Alan Round with Ray Sopp, Bob Ottway and Norman Hambidge lost 19-23 while John Stephens with Des Jones, John Elstob and Ron Higgins lost 12-22.

Banbury Chestnuts beat Chipping Norton 88-78

Derek Ives with Dave Tilley, John Duncan and Jamie Wilkinson won 36-11 while Lee Wilkinson with Martyn Cooper, Pat Noonan and Colin Taylor won 28-18.

Keith Buckle with John Tobin, Norman Stringer and Jim Denbow lost 12-20 and Alan Wase with Eric Hilton, Richard Cox and Ricky Marsden lost 12-29.

Banbury Central B lost 86-72 against Woodstock in division four.

Ron Cox with Bob Wilkins, Terry Ulph and John Bone won 15-13 while Tom McKenna with Keith Williams, Brian Collins and Chris Williams won 24-20. But Jim Pickering with Graham Tilbury, Ray Puddle and Tony Lawford lost 18-27 and Malcolm Leather with Ed Creed, Maurice Tombes and John Hart lost 15-26.
