Lions looked dangerous whenever they carried the ball. James Paige carried well, dragging several defenders with him while there were good displays form centres Alex Bridges and Alex Auld, and fullback Andrew Mawle.

A strong opening produced tries from Alex Bridges and Andrew Mawle before a spirited counter offensive by Silhillians.

Aided by questionable tackling and several penalties for infringement, Silhillians quickly made ground and, picking around the fringe, put pressure on the Lions’ line.

Lions’ defence was finally breached and repeated infringements left the visitors at risk of losing a player before halftime.

After the restart, Silhillians scored a quick try and Lions had to endure consistent pressure with very little to show for it. But Lions turned it around, set-pieces were stolen with great work again from Paige.

Lions ran in several tries through Wes Hallam, Bridges (3), Mawle (3) and Sam Parke to round off a commanding display.
