Banbury made the long journey to Havant, looking to get back on track in division two after so many recent cancellations.

They took that enthusiasm into the opening phases of play and retained most of the possession, attacking the opposition’s half. Banbury won several short corners without being able to convert the opportunities, until towards the end of the first half when well-rehearsed short corner routine saw Lyndsey White set up Charli Price for an emphatic finish.

The second half saw Havant starting to put more pressure on for an equaliser with a more even balance of possession between the two teams. In defence, Becca Edwards and Sam Humphreys stood firm, with the midfield line working hard in front of them.

But Banbury were caught out as a fast Havant forward intercepted a pass with a clear run to goal, coolly finishing to equalise. Both teams continued to press hard, with good work in the midfield line.

Emily Hogg managed to make some headway against the opposition as Banbury regained control of the pitch within the last few minutes. But despite Banbury’s efforts, they were unable to produce the winner.
