Saints finally broke their duck on the road with a 2-1 success at Tamworth in Saturday’s Vanarama National League North clash. Two goals from Steve Diggin and a battling team performance saw Saints pick up three vital points to move out of the drop zone.

Wilkin said: “This is not an easy place to come, we should enjoy the result because the players deserve it. They have deserved it sooner with some strong performances and it’s been a long time coming.

“It gives us good heart but we won’t get carried away, we defended well and I am especially pleased with the build-up play to both goals. The contributions of David Moyo to the first and Matt Lowe to the second were excellent and you would want Steve Diggin on the end of those moves attacking those key areas, those were the key moments that won us the game.”
