Saints had to come from behind to beat Harrogate Town 2-1 in Saturday’s Vanarama National League North clash. That came on the back of the midweek Emirates FA Cup victory over Gillingham.

Both Saints’ substitutes scored second half goals to reverse Harrogate’s halftime lead given to them by Simon Ainge. David Moyo equalised and Matt Lowe hit the late winner to take Saints up to seventh.

Wilkn said: “It’s been a big eight days. Winning at Boston last Saturday, against Gillingham on Wednesday and, perhaps most impressively, against Harrogate, is fantastic.

“The players had to dig deep for each other in what was a tough game after the games last Saturday and extra-time on Wednesday.

“We were camped in their half at times and we really had to apply ourselves. But they sustained it right throughout the game and deserved that win.

“The attitude, their discipline and honesty were outstanding. We needed to keep a foot in the door in the league and we’ve done that.

“I’m delighted that both David [Moyo] and Matt [Lowe] got their goals. They deserve the plaudits, both also came off the bench in midweek and did well.”
