Saints returned from Lowestoft Town with a priceless 2-1 on Saturday despite losing Ryan Austin in the opening period. David Moyo’s first half opener was cancelled out by Michael Spillane before a second half cross from Junior English ended up in the back of the net.

Wilkin said: “The first half was even but in the second half we made good decisions and earned the win.

“We needed to win again today after the win last week. If we hadn’t we would be looking down the barrel of a gun.

“We have given ourselves a real chance now and face another crucial test next week at home against Bradford Park Avenue. The club is offering free admission to all spectators so I am hoping for a big crowd to really get behind the players and make it another special afternoon.”
