Frustrated Brackley Town boss Kevin Wilkin could not fault his players except for one first half moment during Saturday’s defeat against Stockport County.
A solitary goal from Obi Anoruo sent Saints back into the bottom three in the Vanarama National League North.
We hit the woodwork twice and my players have given it their heart and soulSaints boss Kevin Wilkin
Wilkin said: “There was clearly a foul in the lead up to the goal but players looked to the referee for the decision. Players must play to the whistle.
“In the second half we completely dominated, we passed it well but did not quite find the cutting edge we needed. We played some terrific balls into key areas but could not convert.
“We got into wide areas very well, hit the woodwork twice and my players have given it their heart and soul again. Our build-up play was very good at times but crucially we are not turning it into goals.
“We shot off target a few times but that is okay, we need to be shooting, I make no criticism of that. We have a better balance in the side now and today our midfield was fantastic putting in some great balls but we couldn’t get anybody on the end.”
