The pitch at Taunton is waterlogged following more rain today on top of an already sodden surface. Tonight’s game was scheduled to be the second in three Evo-Stik Southern League away days for the Puritans.

Now United’s next game will be at Wimborne Town in Saturday’s Division One South & West fixture on the back of Saturday’s 5-0 success at basement boys Bashley.

Manager Mike Ford had mixed feelings about the game being postponed.

He said: “It was going to be a tough game which, if we had lost, would have meant we would have had to pick the players up for another away game on Saturday. But we’ve got to play 42 games and will have to go there some time.”
