Sports hit by late goal

EASINGTON Sports boss Phil Lines will be hoping his side can stop leaking late goals when they entertain Woodley Town in Saturday’s Division One East clash.

Sports faced old rivals Purton from Division One West in the second round of the Bluefin Sports Supplementary Cup and came home empty-handed following a 3-2 defeat, going down to a late winner from Adam Gooch.

Sports went ahead in the 25th minute when Pete Moulder flicked the ball on for James Hastie to volley home on the back post. Purton drew level ten minutes after the restart through Richard Crocker.

Rob Child put Purton in front in the 77th minute but Sports drew level in the 87th minute through Andrew Stidder. But with just seconds to play, Purton broke quickly and Gooch slotted home.
