Matt Giles' side saw off Windsor 3-1 in Saturday's premier division clash at Addison Road. Luke Swann gave Sports the interval lead, the excellent Piers Walton doubled the advantage straight after the restart and Bradley Cox added a third before Windsor skipper Luke Appleton grabbed a late consolation.

Windsor made the better start and it took a last-gasp goal-line clearance from Josh Rose to deny Tomas Kalinauskas early on. George Gould also fired wide from the edge of the box as Windsor created the early openings.

But Sports gradually got into the contest and began to pose the greater threat. Swann twice went close when he cut inside but fired wide of the far post before shooting off target after being set up by Walton.

Joe Cowlinshaw shot wide from 25 yards and Walton, who began to cause problems with his clever play, turned his marker but shot straight at Nojus Trinovas.

At the other end Billy Montague turned well but saw his shot saved by Joe White at the near post before Sports broke the deadlock on the half-hour mark. Cowlinshaw turned well and found Swann who cut inside and his low drive was deflected past Trinovas.

Sports made the perfect start to the second half when White's long clearance released Walton who raced clear and slipped the ball past the advancing Trinovas. Following the early setback, Windsor failed to seriously threaten and Sports always looked the side more likely to score the next goal. It finally arrived when Swann's inswinging corner was headed home by Cox.

Windsor struggled to create any opportunities from open play but pulled a goal back when Appleton rose well to head a free-kick.
