Goals in each half from Jack Westbrook and Felipe Barcelos, his first for the club, earned the Puritans at 2-0 victory, and their sixth on the spin, in Saturday’s Division One South & West clash.

Ford said: “They were very difficult conditions but we controlled the game from start to finish against a side who, without sounding disrespectful, we should beat.

“It takes us on to 60 points, six wins on the bounce and now we can plan for Tiverton on Tuesday.

“Taunton and Tiveton are the easy games for us because they are right up there, games like the one at Bishops Cleeve are hard because we are expected to win them. They had nothing to lose but we’ve got across the line again on a difficult pitch.

“We had a really good bench to call upon to make a difference and they did, especially Duran Martin.

“Defensively, we were very strong. Jack Westbrook gives us a solid look, there are no frills with him, he doesn’t want to play in central defence but he is so good there.

“Michael Hopkins made his debut and gave us something a bit extra down the left which is something I’ve been looking for all season.”
