An early goal from the striker put Easington Sports on the way to a 3-0 victory at Milton United in Saturday’s UHLSport Hellenic League clash.

Sports took a 13th minute lead when Danny Poole released Mike Spaull and his cross was turned in by Robinson. Andrew Stidder and Spaull provided some enticing deliveries with Sam Grant heading over and shooting straight at the keeper after bursting into the box.

Spirts eventually doubled their lead when Robinson and Stidder linked up down the left. Stidder crossed and Spaull sprinted into the box to power a header into the top corner.

Jack Goode had to tip one shot around the post but was rarely troubled.

After the restart, Milton moved the ball around well but lacked penetration in the final third. Sports created several chances before they finally added a third goal near the end.

Tom Smith and Grant combined on the right and when the near post cross was missed by two defenders Stidder ran in to slot home via the frame of the goal.

Sports look to be in a battle with Purton and Abingdon United for third place in Division One West and will be looking to maintain their run against Old Woodstock Town on Saturday.
