Puritans will be heading south next season

Banbury United have been placed in Division One South & West of the Evo-Stik Southern League following their relegation from the premier division.

The make up of the divisions was confirmed on Thursday and the South & West Division looks, on paper at least, to be a division which will give the club a much better chance of a quick return to the premier division.

There are several clubs in the division who United have met before in the premier division including AFC Totton, Bashley, Clevedon Town, Evesham United, Swindon Supermarine and Tiverton Town, plus Bishops Cleeve, who they played in the FA Cup this season, and North Leigh, who they beat in the Oxon Senior Cup final.

The new season commences on Saturday, August 8 and the full fixtures are scheduled to be published on Thursday, July 16.
