Play-off agony for Brackley Town
Brackley Town have failed to secure promotion to the Football Conference after a 1-0 Conference North play-off final defeat to FC Halifax Town at St James Park this afternoon.
Lee Gregory grabbed the crucial goal after 74 minutes in front of a record 2,604 fans on a wet, cold and tense afternoon.
The result means that Brackley – who have enjoyed a rapid rise through the non-league football pyramid - will remain in the Conference North when the new season gets under way in August.
