Banbury United made it three Evo-Stik Southern League wins on the spin on the day that Jack Harding signed a contract with the club.
Harding will remain at the Banbury Plant Hire Community Stadium through to the end of next season.
The 24-year-old keeper has been in top form again this season and helped the Puritans to three more points against lowly Cirencester Town on Saturday. The Puritans won it 2-1 and will be looking to extend their winning run against Chesham United on Tuesday.
Luke Carnell gave United a 19th minute lead when he knocked in a Tom Winters’ corner. Despite going behind, Town enjoyed a good spell leading up to the interval.
But Conor McDonagh doubled United’s advantage in the 57th minute against the run of play.
United had further chances but failed to take them and Cirencester deservedly pulled a goal back through Dan Demkiv in the 77th minute. It was an anxious final quarter of an hour for Mike Ford’s side with the visitors twice going close.
