Two of those defeats have come in cup competitions and the Puritans have lost just twice in eight Evo-Stik League South outings. Tamworth should be higher in the premier division central table and Ford knows his side will be in for another tough test.

Ford said: “Tamworth are similar to Kings Lynn by the fact that they are one of the division’s big-hitters but are probably in a false position in the table. They’ve not started the season as they would have wanted to.”

And Ford said he will stick with the system the team has been playing, adding: “You have to be strong and keep to your beliefs. You can listen to opinions about how you should play, like what formation to use, but you have to shut yourself off from that.

“We’ve played 4-4-2 in ten games and only lost once. We’ve played pretty good in most of the games so I don’t want to keep chopping and changing formations and players.

“That doesn’t lead to continuity, we have to stick to our principals and I’ve no doubt we’ll start getting results again, I hope it’s on Saturday.”
