Ford said he will pick the best team each week, no matter who the opposition is, even though he has a strong bench for the second half of the campaign.

He said: “There will be no rotation between now and the end of the season. I will always pick the best team, on performance and training, if players dip below their standard I will drop them.

“I will pick my best 11 every Saturday. There are no more midweek games for us, other teams have midweek games and they have got to win them.”

But Ford is frustrated that two Buckingham Charity Cup games could hamper his side’s push for the Evo-Stik Southern League play-offs.

He said: “The Buckingham Charity Cup games are pointless ones but the club is commmited to the competition. Andy Gunn can’t play in them yet the games don’t count towards his suspension.

“I’m not being disrespectful to the competition but it’s one we could do without.”
