Saints were unable to build on last weekend’s excellent 2-1 victory at Boston United in Monday’s six-pointer with AFC Telford United when the game was postponed.

But boss Kevin Wilkin asked for his players to show more character, which they did at Boston, and they will have to do that again on Saturday. Top scorer Steve Diggin could be back and that would be a big boost.

Wilkin said: “We are not out of the woods by a long way but have to keep believing and keep working.

AFC Fylde will be another big test but if Steve [Diggin] is back that will be a fantastic boost for us. He did some shooting practice last week and all seemed well and he will train twice this week.”
