Brackley Town face a tough test in their bid to stay up when they entertain high-flying AFC Fylde in Saturday’s Vanarama National League North clash.

Saints were unable to build on last weekend’s excellent 2-1 victory at Boston United in Monday’s six-pointer with AFC Telford United when the game was postponed.

AFC Fylde will be another big test but if Steve Diggin is back that will be a fantastic boost for us

But boss Kevin Wilkin asked for his players to show more character, which they did at Boston, and they will have to do that again on Saturday. Top scorer Steve Diggin could be back and that would be a big boost.

Wilkin said: “We are not out of the woods by a long way but have to keep believing and keep working.

“AFC Fylde will be another big test but if Steve [Diggin] is back that will be a fantastic boost for us. He did some shooting practice last week and all seemed well and he will train twice this week.”
