Ford says United are tougher to crack now

The Puritans travel down to Somerset for Saturday’s Evo-Stik Southern League clash, one place above Frome who have a game in hand.

He said: “Frome’s recent form is very good but we’ll be going down there much better prepared than when they beat us here.

“That game came straight after we had beaten Chippenham and I think emotionally the players struggled and didn’t have enough to cope.

“But we’re more experienced now, we’re going down there on a run of good form and there’s no reason why we can’t get a result on Saturday. Frome probably need the three points more than we do – especially as they are at home.

“We’ll be set up to make it difficult for Frome but we’re capable of going anywhere and getting a result, we’ve beaten the top team, Chippenham, twice and they’ve only lost four games all season.

“They are solid, don’t give much away and have two good strikers, so that seems to be the template for success.

“We can beat anybody on our day and the new players have settled in well. As a squad we involve everyone in training so any player that comes into the starting line-up knows their role.

“We’ve got competition all over the pitch which is great coming into the final ten games of the season. So if any players drops their performance level they could be out of the side.”
