Goals in each half from Zac McEachran and Felipe Barcelos put the Puritans in charge of Saturday’s Evo-Stik Southern League clash before Jake Lee reduced the arrears late on.

The Puritans are now second in Division One South & West after Cinderford Town took over at the top.

Ford said: “We were just better than them simple as that. We were comfortable for 70 minutes until they got a goal back.

“We were good, the players were at it and we got two great goals. At 2-0 we should have seen the game out, which we did in the end.

“It was a good performance but we should have scored more goals, we should have been out of sight at halftime. If Ricky Johnson put the ball either side of the keeper in the first half he scores and Leam Howards should have scored at the end, so we need to be more clinical in front of goal.

“We need to keep more clean sheets but if we keep playing like that we’ll win plenty more games.”
