Banbury United manager Mike Ford is relishing tonight’s (Tuesday) Evo-Stik Southern League clash with Didcot Town at Spencer Stadium.
The Puritans go into the Division One South & West clash on the back of Saturday’s 4-0 victory at AFC Totton where Ricky Johnson completed his second hat-trick of the campaign. Didcot will also be in fine fettle following their excellent run in the Emirates FA Cup.
The Railwaymen will host Sky Bet League Two outfit Exeter City in the first round after they beat Brentwood Town in Saturday’s fourth qualifying round tie.
Ford said: “Didcot will be buzzing after the FA Cup draw so they may have their minds on the Exeter game already. We have just got to keep the focus on our own game like we did at Totton on Saturday.
“We warned the players before Saturday’s game about expectation and possible complacency but they answered all our questions with an excellent performance and that was really pleasing.”
Club officials will be expecting a good crowd at tonight’s game and Ford added: “I’m looking forward to playing under the floodlights against Spencer Stadium. The last time we played a midweek game at home against Burnham the crowd really got behind the team and helped us over the line, so hopefully they can do that again tonight.”
Callum White is available after his injury but Jack Westbrook is still ill and Mark Bell will not be risked.
