The Puritans go into the Evo-Stik Southern League clash on the back of three straight losses. The latest came at Hitchin Town in Saturday’s 3-1 premier division defeat.

Leam Howards came off the bench to get a late consolation goal and is set to start on Monday. But Ford will also be looking at other changes to end his side’s losing run.

Ford said: “Hitchin are an established premier division club and finished in the play-offs last season. So when you go to a team like that you have to have all 11 players working for each other and we didn’t have that in the first half.

“If we had played like we did in the second half throughout the game it would have been a lot closer. But we beat ourselves and we were just too easy to play against.

“We’re being punished for the mistakes we’re making. We’ve got to stop making them or we’re going to get beat most weeks.

“Clean sheets are so important but at the moment we don’t look like keeping one and I feel sorry for Jack Harding.

“I changed the changed the shape in the second half to try and make it better. We got more possession and created some half chances but gave away another poor goal.

“I’ve got to think about the shape and personnel for Monday but I’ve just got to make sure I get it right.”
