Banbury United boss Mike Ford will be looking for his side to remain among the front runners in the BetVictor Southern League.

The Puritans have a great opportunity to pick up another three Premier Central points when they entertain lowly Alvechurch on Saturday.

United go into Saturday’s game with back-to-back victories, the latest a five-star show at basement boys Leiston.

But Ford’s focus is firmly on Alvechurch and three more points which, he says, is a must if United are to stay in the top three.

Ford said: “Saturday is another must-win game, we have to get the three points and then it’s up to the other clubs to catch us. Hednesford lost ground on Tuesday, so I want us to have the points on the board by Saturday night.”

Ford hopes the feel-good factor around the club will be reflected in the attendance on Saturday.

He added: “We’re playing some good football and are in the top three, that’s all we can do so we just hope that’s enough to get more supporters along to our home games.”
