Ricky Johnson bagged a brace in Saturday’s 4-0 victory at Chesham United where Luke Carnell and substitute Sam Humphreys also got on the score sheet. The Puritans are now level on points with Merthyr Town who occupy the final premier division play-off spot.

Ford said: “That’s five wins on the bounce, It was tough, Chesham have got some very good players and we had to work very hard to get the result.

“The Chesham bench commented on how hard we worked and said we would win a lot of games through that. We pressed high and played at a good tempo throughout.

“Their keeper got the man-of-the-match award and that shows how much possession we had and how many opportunities we created. We made what looked a difficult match on paper look like an easy one with the final score line but it wasn’t.”
