The '˜feel-good' factor is back at Puritans says Ford

Banbury United boss Mike Ford felt the '˜feel-good' factor was back following Saturday's dramatic victory over Stratford Town.

The Puritans ended a run of three straight Evo-Stik Southern League defeats to come from a goal behind to beat Stratford 2-1 at the Banbury Plant Hire Community Stadium.

Ben Stephens gave Stratford the second half lead in Saturday’s premier division derby but an own goal from Guy Clark and Callum White’s stoppage-time winner saw United prevail.

Ford said: “Football is a funny game.

“We were starring down the barrel of four straight defeats. But, half-an-hour later, we’ve won the game, got three more points and sit comfortably in mid-table.

“There was a real ‘feel-good’ factor around the ground after the game. Now we need to get some momentum going into our next two home games.

“We had momentum before the enforced break but we’ve taken four games to get it back. We’re on 34 points now and I don’t want us to lose that momentum.”
