It would come as little surprise if Manny Duku has played his last game for Banbury United unless he can convince boss Mike Ford he deserves another chance.

The former King’s Langley striker was hauled off at halftime during Saturday’s 2-1 victory over Cirencester Town and Ford did not mince his words when explaining his decision.

Ford said: “Manny Duku has got to realise that he’s now playing for a manager who played more 500 Football League games and that I’m not going to accept performances like that.

“The fact that he didn’t come out for the second half tells you what I thought of his first half performance. And I won’t take him chirping back at me on the pitch.

“He’s come from King’s Langley, had spells at Chesham, Hemel Hempstead and Oxford City. So he needs to ask himself why he’s doing the rounds.

“That first half display will probably tell him why. So if he wants to be a starter he has to do better than that.”
