Banbury United manager Paul Davis says he wants to be given the chance to bring the club back up following their relegation on the final day of the Evo-Stik Southern League campaign.
The Puritans’ relegation from the premier division was confirmed in Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Chesham United where Dave Pearce hit the stoppage-time winner shortly after Joel Meade was dismissed.
United simply had to win at Chesham and hope results elsewhere went their way. But, with From Town earning a vital point in the 1-1 draw with St Neots Town, United would have been relegated anyway.
After the game, a disappointed Davis spoke to the Banbury Guardian.
