Despite the odds being stacked against his side, Banbury United boss Paul Davis is urging supporters to get behind his players in the penultimate home game of the season at Spencer Stadium.
The Puritans entertain Histon in Saturday’s Evo-Stik Southern League clash, one in which only a victory will keep alive their slim chances of staying up.
But, even if they do beat Histon, Slough and Chesham United on the final day, Frome only need one win from their final two games to stay up.
Davis said: “The aim is to go to Chesham United on the final day and still be in with a chance of staying up. We’ve got to take it to the final weekend of the season.
“The supporters were excellent against Weymouth, it was the same as when I first took over and we need that backing again on Saturday.
“We’ve had to rely on other teams for some time now but we’ve just got to make sure we do our job and see what other teams do.
“We will play an attacking line-up and go for it because this really is a ‘must-win’ game. But I still believe if we can three games, and they are all winnable, then we will stay.
“I can’t see Frome getting another point with the two games they’ve got left, at Slough and against St Neots.”
