Banbury United manager Paul Davis says he will field a full strength side for tonight’s (Tuesday) Oxon Senior Cup quarter-final tie with Oxford City.
Davis will be up against his boss Justin Merritt at Spencer Stadium where the City manager will be looking for his side to build on their recent good run in the Vanarama Conference North, having thumped Brackley Town 5-0 on Saturday.
Davis, who has worked as a coach under Merritt for eight years at Ignite Sport UK, will be looking for a positive response from his players following Saturday’s 6-1 hammering at Cambridge City in the Evo-Stik Southern League.
He said: “I’m going to go for as strong a side as I can for the tie, especially after Saturday’s performance. We badly a win in any competition, the Oxon Senior Cup is not our priority, but we need to start winning games again.
“It will be strange being up against Justin tonight, having been with him at City before here, and working with him, so winning this game might cost me my job!”
