Reece Bayliss and Leam Howards had early chances in the premier division contest before Jack Ross headed straight at keeper Carl Dennison who then saved from James Foster.

Ardley finally took a 32nd minute lead when Howards coolly slotted past the advancing Dennison.

Matt Cruse had an effort ruled out for offside. But seven minutes after the restart Cruse saw his shot saved by Dennison and Bayliss was on hand to slam home the rebound.

Bradley Cox made it 3-0 when he beat Dennison to a cross and headed home his fifth goal in eight games. On the hour mark Cruse released Bayliss, his first attempt came back off a defender but the rebound fell kindly and he netted despite the efforts of a defender and Dennison.

The scoring was completed in the 67th minute when Cruse burst through and saw his shot saved by Dennison but Jack Heap deftly chipped the ball over the stranded keeper from the edge of the box.

Manager Paul Davis said: “We have played very well the past two games, gone back to basics and done what we needed to do.

“We were the better team from start to finish, we’ve now taken four points from a possible six against higher placed teams. But we need to back this up again on Tuesday night at Oxford City Nomads.”
