Brackley Town manager Jon Brady has mixed feelings about tonight’s (Thursday) pre-season friendly with MK Dons.
Saints entertain the Championship new boys and Brady is hoping they don’t give his side the runaround as they did in last season’s fixture.
Saints will be without Eddie Odhiambo for several weeks, Glenn Walker will miss tonight’s game but Steve Diggin could feature against Karl Robinson’s side.
Brady said: “It’s a great fixture for the club, especially now that MK Dons are a Championship side, but we’ve had a top heavy end to our pre-season programme and they could be far too strong for us.
“We’ve got a few injuries for the game, Glenn Walker, Eddie Odhiambo and Steve Diggin, so our real test will be against Stourbridge on Saturday.
“All in all, it’s been a bit of a difficult pre-season for games.
“Brackley isn’t a team which is top of many clubs’ list for home friendlies and we have to accept that. But the games against Northampton Town and MK Dons are great games for us to stage.”
Saints lost 3-0 to a strong Northampton Town side in Saturday’s Maunsell Cup at St James Park on Saturday.
New signing Alfie Potter bagged two second half goals for Cobblers who had taken a first half lead through skipper Marc Richards.
There were just under 500 for the game with plenty of Cobblers fans and the club will be expecting another good turn-out from Dons fans tonight.
