Brackley Town volunteers scoop monthly award
Brackley Town volunteers Dr Philip Stevens and his wife Denise have been recognised as the Vanarama National League North Volunteers of the Month for January.
They received the award ahead of last weekend’s 2-1 victory over Chorley at St James Park.

Hide AdSaints boss Kevin Wilkin said: “The award is evidence of the good people we have around the club and it is fantastic that two humble, lovely people get a bit of recognition for what they do.
“Dr Stevens, ably supported by his wife, turns up on Tuesdays and Thursdays and on match-days to help out as with the testing and do so week in and week out on a voluntary basis.
“I’ve said before it is the contributions of our volunteers, people like this, that get us to matchday in good shape and get us results like we had on the pitch last weekend.
“I am delighted for them. It is thoroughly deserved.”
After receiving the award, Dr Stevens said: “Volunteers are what make a community club and that’s what makes it a pleasure to be part of.
“Denise and I are really appreciative of the committee putting us forward for this but we know there are far more people at the club doing a lot more than we do. But thank you all the same.”
