Boost for Puritans as main stand sponsorship deal is extended

Banbury United have received a financial boost after a local company extended a sponsorship deal with the club.

The Puritans have made a flying start to life at a higher level in the Vanarama National League North with Andy Whing’s team maintaining the momentum after their superb Southern League Premier Central title success last season.

And, off the pitch, the club have had further good news as the fans’-owned club continue to receive support from local companies.

They have confirmed that John Nicholls Plumbing and Heating will continue to sponsor the main stand at the Banbury Plant Hire Community Stadium until the end of the 2023-24 season.

The local company have increased their sponsorship in an enhanced five figure deal over the next two campaigns.

United’s commercial liaison officer and club ambassador Mark Allitt said: “I’m extremely pleased that John Nicholls are continuing their fantastic support to us as we move into a new era of Vanarama National League football.

“It’s very important our long-term sponsor partnerships continue which allows to push the club forward with confidence.

"John Nicholls will also continue to sponsor our Community Lottery which is another key strategic partnership for us.”

John Nicholls Managing Director, Adam England was also pleased to be able to extend his sponsorship with the club.

He added: “I’m delighted that we’ve been able to extend our sponsorship for a further two seasons.

"We’ve supported the club for a long time now and to see Banbury United achieve promotion to the National League divisions is very special indeed.

"The team had a fantastic promotion season, and we wish the club and supporters a successful time in the National League.”

The news has, understandably, also gone down well with Puritans chairman Ronnie Johnson.

He said: “It’s brilliant news for the club to have John Nicholls alongside us again.

"I’d like to thank Andrew, Adam and all the team, for their continued support to Banbury United.”
