Ardley keeper Kieran Beesley let a cross slip through his grasp to leave Joe Blount with the simplest of goals before he parried a shot which Dan Burnell converted. Flackwell keeper Rourke Pickford then failed to hold on to a shot which Troy Bryan tapped home.

The Heathens restored their two-goal advantage when Dylan Kearney broke through and lifted the ball over Beesley. Things got worse for Ardley just after the half hour mark when Beesley rushed out to challenge Dan Rapley who got to the ball before the keeper to give the visitors a 4-1 halftime lead.

Both sides produced entertaining football in the second half. Reece Bayliss saw his shot headed off the line before Blount fired a wide.

Substitute Ade Talabi had an effort ruled out for offside before converting a Ryan Markham pass. Chris Jackson headed home a corner in the last minute but it came too late to force extra-time.
