First for Arden as Calderon signs up

Recently crowned vice-champion of the MRF Series, Calderon graduates to GP3 Series from the European Formula 3 Championship, where she has spent the last few seasons.

The Colombian participated in the GP3 post-season test in Abu Dhabi, with motivating progressive results over the two days.

The 22-year-old will make her mark at the Banbury team, being the first female to race in the Arden colours in the team’s 19-year history.

Arden International general manager Julian Rouse said: “It’s great to have Tatiana racing with us this season, she participated in the GP3 tests in Abu Dhabi and seemed to adapt to the GP3 car really well and set some very competitive lap times on performance runs.

“Coming off the back of a strong run to second place in the MRF series over the winter and I’m sure her confidence will be high and it will be good to try and keep that momentum going.”

Calderon aded: “I’m really excited to be joining Arden for the 2016 GP3 championship, it’s another step forward in my career.
