Cropredy are safe after a final win over Hooky

They left it late but Cropredy managed to avoid relegation on the final night of the Banbury Indoor Cricket League campaign.

Cropredy beat Hook Norton by two wickets in Tuesday’s final division one fixture.

Luke Cherry took 2-40 and Jake Walters picked up 2-40 as Hook Norton were restricted to 105-6 in their ten overs. In reply, Ross Bennett 50no saw Cropredy in the final over.

Sandford St Martin retained their title with a 71 run success against Ruscote who arre relegated.

Chris Thompson 25no and Nick Best 25no helped Sandford to 118-2 in their ten overs. Tom Goffe then took 2-20 as Ruscote were dismissed for 47 runs in the sixth over.

Shipston-on-Stour beat Broughton & North Newington by 47 runs to stay up but send their opponents down.

Shipston posted 95-6 in their ten overs with Marcus Ireland 23 and Archie Walker 23 leading the way. Ireland then took 3-20 to end Newington’s hopes with Stuart Morgan 27 top scoring.

Banbury beat Great & Little Tew by six wickets.

George Tate took 3-16 and James Risbridger claimed 1-12 as Tew were restricted to 60-5 in their ten overs with Lloyd Brock 31 top scoring. Jack Lamden 25no led Banbury home in the fifth over but Tew just avoided relegation in a tight division.
