Cropredy beat Great & Little Tew II by five wickets in Saturday’s division two fixture in the Cherwell Cricket League.

Asked to bowl first, Cropredy battled through challenging weather conditions to bowl Tew out for 73 runs in the 35th over.

Some excellent, disciplined seam bowling was rewarded with the wickets shared between Jake Heath, who took 4-31, Jake Walters with 3-18 and George Buckingham who claimed 2-23.

In reply, excellent bowling saw Cropredy chase the score, losing five wickets with the threat of rain throughout speeding up the batting as they found the required runs in the 30th over.

Being the only game played in the division means Cropredy move up to fourth in the table.

Banbury III beat Didcot by 47 runs in division three.

Imran Mohammed 37 and Paul Hill 36 helped Banbury to 194-8 while Andy Griffiths took 3-27.

In reply, Ollie Murrey took 3-13 and Michael Thomas picked up 3-30 as Didcot were dismissed in the 35th over with Connor Morrison 36 top scoring.

Cropredy II beat Twyford II by 64 runs in division six.

Tom Evans 36 led the way as Cropredy were dismissed for 130 runs. In reply, Ali Worby took 6-28 as Twyford were shot out in the 22nd over.

Great & Little Tew IV lost by 42 runs against Witney Mills II in division eight.

Simon Rae took 4-21 and Harvey Machin picked up 3-55 as Witney were dismissed for 164 runs at Ledwell Road.

In reply, Alex Wilson took 5-11 as the hosts were skittled out 37th over with James Churchill 40 top scoring.
