Sandford see off Banbury to retain run

Sandford St Martin beat Banbury by three runs in Tuesday’s Banbury Indoor Cricket League fixture.

Sandford posted 108-6 in 9.2 overs in the division one fixture with Martin Anson (45) leading the way.

Banbury made a good start with Steve Beck (26no) and Olly Clarke (20) top scoring before the lower order froze to leave Sandford as the only team with maximum wins.

Hook Norton beat Shipston-on-Stour by three wickets.

Marcus Ireland (41) and Justin Parker (34) helped Shipston to 108-5 but Hooky passed the total with five balls to spare, Dickie Knight (40no) and Andy Stanley (37) top scoring.

Cropredy beat Cropredy A by 43 runs.

Ed Somerton (34no) and Si Hussain (20) helped Cropredy to 111-4 in ten overs. Jake Walters then took 2-14 to skittle out Cropredy A in 7.3 overs.

Broughton & North Newington beat Great Tew by a single run.

Sam Crook (29) top scored as Newington made 98-3 in ten overs. Lawrence Brock (31) and Lloyd Brock (28) nearly rescued it from 68-4 as Stuart Morgan took 3-32.
